Richard E. Sharr age 91 of Ashland, passed away on Sunday March 25, 2018 at his residence.

Born on March 6, 1927 the son of Carl Kenneth and Velda Belle (Moser) Sharr he was an Ashland resident all of his life. He was a graduate of Ashland High School, attended Ashland College and graduated from Miami University.  He had previously been employed as a bailiff and also worked in inside sales.

Mr. Sharr was a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country during World War II.

On March 19, 1950 Richard married Marilyn Ann Jones who survives.

In addition to his wife Marilyn, Mr. Sharr is also survived by four daughters and three sons in law; Cindy (David) Eby of Ashland, Chelle (Randy) Cooper of Ashland, Carla (Dan) Bowersox of Powell and Missy Vogel of Ashland.

Ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Sharr is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Robert, step father Leo Keener and son in law Dan Vogel.

A memorial service will be held at the Heyl Funeral Home on Wednesday March 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Keith Tyson officiating.
