Roy E. Cooper Sr.

Roy E. Cooper Sr. age 80 of Rittman passed away on February 2, 2024 at Akron General Medical Center.

 Born on September 3, 1943 in Portsmith, Ohio the son of Albert L. and Jeannette (O’Rorke) Cooper he had been a resident of Ohio for the majority of his life. Roy served proudly in the United States Army. Before his retirement, he had been employed at American Augers. 

 Roy was a child of God. He was an avid fan of Dirt track racing and enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was loved by so many and always gave the best hugs. 

 On April 3rd, 1969 he was married to Lucille Martin who survives.

 Also surviving are two children; Jeffery (Michelle) Cooper of Ashland and Jeanette Cooper of Rittman, Ohio. Eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive. Mr. Cooper is also survived by five siblings; Patty (Al) Conley of North Ridgeville, Michael Cooper of Medina, Eugenia (Art) Blizzard of Bucyrus, Nancy Riffle of North Olmsted and Thomas Cooper of Minford, Ohio.

 He is preceded in death by his parents; son and daughter in law, Roy Cooper Jr. and Crystal Cooper; two brothers and two sisters, Robert Cooper, Russel Cooper, Carol Allen and Linda Adkins.

 Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 8,2024 at 11:00 am at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Conn officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday February 7, 2024 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm at the funeral home
