Betty Jane Sweet

Betty Jane Sweet, age 84, of Ashland, OH., passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008, at the Good Shepherd Home. On April 17, 1924, in Ashland, OH., Mrs. Sweet was born to the late Harold and Goldie (Gorton) Morr. She had been a resident of Ashland Co. all of her life and a homemaker. Mrs. Sweet attended the Christ Community Church in Savannah.

On July 29, 1946, Betty married LeRoy V. Sweet who preceded her February 9, 1992. She is survived by a son, Phillip (Brenda) Sweet of Bailey Lakes; a daughter, Cindy (Thomas) Lefever of Savannah, OH., grandchildren: Jennifer (Steve) Hoover of Nova, Daniel Lefever of Savannah, Heather (Mike) Manley of Ashland, and Jeremy Sweet of Bailey Lakes; great-grandchildren: John and Nicole Sablan, Ashlyn, Paige, and Brevin King, Blake and Cheyenne Sweet; special extended family: JoAnn Danals of Savannah, Missy Danals of Savannah, Sheri Witmer and family of Ashland, Frankie (Cheryl) Danals and family of Mansfield, Frank Danals of Ashland, Joan Lang of N.Y., and Marty Carrotsole of N.Y. Mrs. Sweet was also preceded by 2 brothers, Harold and Wayne Morr.

Services will be held Monday, August 25, 2008, 11:00 am at Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad St., Ashland, with Pastor Mike Futrell officiating. Interment will be at Ashland Co. Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
