Catherine Elizabeth Keffer

Catherine Elizabeth Keffer age 91, of Ashland died Monday November 24, 2008. She was born in Framingham, MA., on December 14, 1916, the daughter of Charles Edwin and Ina Belle (Stoddard) Dockendorf. Catherine lived most all of her life in Ashland where she was a Homemaker. She attended Park St. Brethren Church, taught the Beginners Dept. Sunday school, and enjoyed helping with the Nursery. She also enjoyed spending time with and loving her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

On July 7, 1937 she married Dick B. Keffer who preceded her in death in 1996. Survivors include her two daughters Nancy Bechtel of Wooster and Sarah Cline of Ashland. Other survivors include her 7 grandchildren; Paul (Mindy) Bechtel of Springfield, Steven (Brittany) Bechtel of Bellville, Christy (Chad) McCormick of Raleigh, N.C., Blair (Erin) Bechtel of West Salem, Heidi (David) Baney of Wooster, Katrina (Kelly) McClain of Dublin and Luke Gebhart of Ashland. Also surviving are her 5 great grandchildren; Brooke and Brayden Bechtel, Colin and Mitchell McClain and Vea Baney.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Albert Dockendorf, and her sister Edith Moody.

Graveside services for friends and family will be held at Ashland Cemetery on Wednesday November 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Arden Gilmer officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Nursery Dept. at Park St. Brethren Church, 619 Park St., Ashland, Ohio 44805.
