Charles L. Broome age 89 of Ashland passed away on Thursday August 15, 2019 at his residence.
Born in LaGrange, Ohio on June 20, 1930 the son of Charles H. and Erna Ardis (Moore) Broome, he was an Ashland resident most of his life.
Mr. Broome was the previous owner of Guy’s Tire Service.
On December 4, 1954 Charles was married to Velda E. Michael who preceded him in death in September 2000.
Survivors include one son and daughter in law, Charles M. (Bonnie) Broome of Ontario and one daughter and son in law, Angie (Alan) Lease of Ashland.
Four grandchildren, Nine great grandchildren, Five great-great grandchildren and one brother, John J. Broome also survive.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Broome is preceded in death by his parents; sister Norma Newmyer and brother, Norman Dale Broome.
Mr. Broome was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the Ashland Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post #88, Ashland Eagles Aerie #2178 and a graduating member of Polk High School Class of 1948
In keeping with Mr. Broome’s wishes there will be a graveside memorial service held for friends and family at the Polk Cemetery on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11:30 A.M. with Pastor Layton Broome officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard.
