Harold Warren Decker Sr., age 83, of Ashland, died Friday December 10, 2010 at his residence. He was born March 15, 1927 in Barnesville, Ohio, the son of Ephiam and Myrtle (Pierce) Decker. Mr. Decker had been a resident of Ashland County since 1950. He retired from F.E. Myers/ Pentair in 1990 where he was a foundry worker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. Mr. Decker enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include his son and daughter in-law, John Franklin and Louise Decker of Ashland; two step daughters, Cindy and Joe Scott of Ashland, Linda and Gary Larkey of Ashland; two step sons, Tom and Nancy Pifer of Alabama, Steve and Julie Pifer of North Carolina; one granddaughter; several step grandchildren; along with his sister, Edith Taylor of Barnesville.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife in 1989, Bonnie Lee (Powell) Decker who he married January 28, 1945, his second wife in 2006, Bernadine (Pifer) Decker who he married July 30, 1993, his son Harold Warren Decker Jr., two sister and three brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday December 14, 2010 at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Pfluegar officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to the Ashland Co. Council on Aging, 240 E. 3rd. St. Ashland, Ohio 44805.
