Helen G (Cox) Miracle

Helen G. Miracle age 86 of Ashland, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Brethren Care Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. She was born on July 15, 1926 in Graysville Ohio, the daughter of Willis and Gladys (Cline) Cox.

Mrs. Miracle was a member of, and active in the ministry of the First Baptist Church in Ashland for over 50 years. She exemplified the biblical values of patience, faithfulness, goodness, mercy and love.

She attended and graduated from Ohio University during World War II. Mrs. Miracle had been employed as a teacher for a good portion of her life teaching Business Education courses at both Mapleton High School and Madison High School. She previously taught in the Woodsfield Public Schools.

On December 12, 1947 Helen was married to her husband of 59 years Arnold E. Miracle who preceded her in death in 2007.

Surviving is one son and daughter in law, William (Sharon) Miracle of Ashland; three grandsons and granddaughter in law, Adam Miracle of California,  Andrew (Sheena) Miracle of Charlotte North Carolina and Seth Miracle of Ashland and  Also surviving are two step grandchildren, Tyler (Jennifer) Heyl of Ashland and Jodi Householder and fiancé Chris Van Meter also of Ashland. Five step great grandchildren and two sisters and brothers in law, Jan (Dan) Belford of Massillon and Jean (Dale) Morris of Woodsfield also survive.

In addition to her husband Arnold she is preceded in death by an infant son Bruce Edward Miracle and one brother Robert Cox of Woodfield.

Funeral services will be held at the Heyl Funeral Home on Saturday January 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Butch White officiating. Burial will take place at the Stafford Cemetery in Monroe County on Monday.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday January 11, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Heyl Funeral Home.
