Hope Lander Obituary

Hope Charity Lander, age 89 of Bellville, OH., passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Med-Central in Mansfield, OH. On May 26, 1921 in Morgantown, W.VA., Mrs. Lander was born to William C. and Charity M. (Rogers) Simon. She had been a resident of Morrow Co. since 1971. Formerly she had lived in Morgantown, W.VA., and Belmont Co. Mrs. Lander was a homemaker and former employee of the Tappan Co. and Sprint. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Mansfield, OH.

In 1940 she married Andrew M. Lander Sr. who preceded her in death May 11, 1998. Mrs. Lander is survived by a son, Andrew M. (Mary) Lander Jr. of Ashland; a daughter, Cheryl M. Urban of Bellville, OH.; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Necia Kuhn, Mary Suto, and Marlene Burch. Also preceding Mrs. Lander in death are her parents, a son, John William Lander, an infant brother, Wallace Simon, and brothers, William Simon Jr. and Conrad Simon.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the St. Edward's Catholic Church Ashland, Ohio with Father Tom McQuillen officiating . Interment will be at Ashland Co. Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Heyl Funeral Home.
