Jane L. (Lawrence) Eshelman

Jane L. Eshelman age 92 of Ashland, passed away on Saturday June 15, 2019 at Brookdale Wooster.

Born on February 3, 1927 in Barberton Ohio, the daughter of Lloyd and Ethel (Yeomans) Lawrence.  She lived in Ashland for the past 68 years.  She was a graduate of Seville High School and Bowling Green University.  She started teaching in Spencer then with Ashland City Schools for several years also did home tutoring.  Later after raising her daughters did child care in her home.

On July 29, 1951, Jane married Clair J. Eshelman who preceded her in death on June 15, 1969.

Surviving are four daughters and two sons-in-law; Elaine (Thomas) Weygandt of Wooster Ohio, Mary Lynn Eshelman of Ashland, Carol Frye of Massillon Ohio and Kristine (Tom) Barcroft of Mansfield. She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Clair, Jane was preceded in death by her parents and two sons-in-law.

Jane was an accomplished seamstress and also enjoyed board games and playing cards.

She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church where she was a member of the CJU Sunday School Class, Women’s Circle and volunteered in the nursery.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Post #88 Auxiliary.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 19, 2019 at the Christ United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Snyder officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. the day of the service at the Church. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the East Homer Cemetery.
