Jann Dee Gossett

March 17, 1954 ~ December 18, 2018 (age 64)

Jann Dee Gossett age 64, of Hayesville, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at her residence.  She was born March 17, 1954 in Ashland, the daughter of James O. and Jean (Darr) Gossett.  Jann had lived most of her life in Hayesville; she had been employed at the Ashland County Courthouse Law Library as assistant Librarian.  She was a 1972 graduate of Hillsdale High School; she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Languages cum laude from Lake Erie College, and later received her paralegal certificate from Dyke College.  Jann had been a volunteer poll worker in Hayesville, treasure of the Hayesville Searchlight Club and a Historian.  She was an avid sports fan of all sports especially of all local sports including, Hillsdale Schools, Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians.  She enjoyed reading, gardening and was a wiz at Jeopardy.  Jann also enjoyed being a loving caregiver for her mother, Jean.

Survivors include her mother, Jean Gossett of Hayesville; her sisters, Joni (Dan) Gossett- McCreary of Malta, OH., Jamie Ann Gossett of Atlanta, GA., and Jennifer Bee of Jeromesville; along with her several nieces and nephews.  Jann was preceded in death by her father, James O. Gossett.

The family will receive friends at Heyl Funeral Home on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00A.M.  A Time of Remembrance for Jann will begin at 11:00 A.M.  Burial will follow at the Vermillion Cemetery in Hayesville.  The family suggests memorial contributions may be made in Jann’s memory to either the Cat Sanctuary 1130 E. Main St., NO. 136,  Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to the Humane Society of Ashland County P.O. Box 114 Ashland, Ohio 44805.
