Larry C. Liston, 73, of Ashland died Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Hospice House. On March 19,1935, he was born to the late Eugene and Mary Ellen (Green) Liston and has been a resident of Ashland County all his life. He was employed at Abbott Labs as a journeyman machinist and retiring in 1998. He served in the Army as a sharpshooter and was a member of VFW Post 1067, Eagles 2178 and Am Vets Post 96.
Larry is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law Peggy Dillon of Garland, Texas, Robin and Billy Bauchman of Ashland and Tuesday Bodiford of Ashland, two sons and a daughter-in-law Brian and Nichole Liston of Marion, Ohio and Douglas Liston of Dallas, Texas, 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Sharon Frary, Peggy (Ben) Kelly, Vikki (Gary) Richard and Deborah (Mike) Fite and brothers Ricky (Bear) Liston, James E."Gene" Rufener and Denny Rufener and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, an infant son Larry and an infant sister Sandy Sue Liston.
Services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad Street, Ashland on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 11:00 am with Larry's son Brian and Pastor Doug Ford officiating followed by military services by The Ashland Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, August 19, 2008 from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio.
