Marilyn "June" (Moorhead) Gray

Marilyn “June” Gray age 83, of Ashland, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 at Brethren Care Village.  She was born February 22, 1936 in Ashland, the daughter of Harry G. and Margaret (Stevens) Moorhead.  June had been a lifelong resident of Ashland.  She had been employed with Wooster Brush Company, Kehl kolor Inc., and later retired from Heritage Press.  June attended Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.  She was a very compassionate person and an animal lover.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, puzzles, and taking walks.

In May 1971 June married Herbert L. Gray who preceded her in death in 1998.  Survivors include her sons, Herbert L. (Ronda) Gray III of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Douglas Gray of Canal Winchester; her daughter, Renee Russell of Ashland; grandchildren, Aimee Russell, Gary (Shawndra) Russell Jr., Brooke (John) Martin, Brittany (Geremy) Profit- Rheinwald, Natalie Gray, Nathan Gray, Lacy Gray, Ronda Gray (Fiancée Byron Spreng), and Erikka Gray; her great grandchildren, Gage, Dane, Aurora, Rosalynn, Dorothy, Charlotte, Alaina, Jordan and Aniyah; along with her nephew, Kim Boales.

In addition to her husband Herb, June was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Frank Moorhead and Billy Moorhead.

Funeral Services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 12:00 P.M.  with Dr. Paul Tracy officiating.  Friends may visit with the family on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 6 to 8:00 P.M. and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made in June’s memory to the Humane Society of Ashland County P.O. Box 114 Ashland, Ohio 44805.
