Mary D. Leiter

Mary D. Leiter age 74, of Ashland, died Wednesday August 27, 2008 at the Hospice House. She was born in Monroe Co. on May 20, 1934, the daughter of Hosia and Grace (Antill) Cline. Mrs Leiter lived most all of her life in Ashland where she was a Homemaker. She was a member of the 3rd Street Brethren Church, and enjoyed shopping and spending time with her friends and family.

On June 3, 1953 she married Bernard Leiter who preceded her in death on February 19, 2005. Survivors include her two daughters and sons in-law, Susie and Clyde Tobias of Ashland, and Kathy and Mike Meluch of Ashland. Also surviving are her four grandchildren; Matt and Amy Meluch of Orrville, Chad and Maria Meluch of Smithville, Michelle and David Pavon of California, and Christopher VanMeter and fiancee Morgan Brownfield of Ashland, three great grandchildren; Brandon Pavon, Ilana Pavone, and Leah Pavone all of California. Other survivors include her three sisters and brothers in-law; Sandy and Kenney Booth of Ashland, Debbie and Ralph Bloodheart of Ashland, Shirely and Don Mock of Polk, brother and sister in-law Danny and Linda Cline of Ashland, sister in- law Glena Cline of Ashland, and brother in-law Bill Jennings of Ashland. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bernard, a daughter Cheryl Diane Leiter, brother Hosia Dale Cline, and sister Dorothy Jennings.

Funeral services will be held at the Heyl Funeral Home on Saturday August 30, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. with Chaplain Donald Earlenbaugh officiating. Burial will follow at the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday August 29, 2008 from 6 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Mary's name to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
