SANDRA KAUFFMAN GARDENING ENTHUSIAST

     Sandra J. Kauffman age 74 of Ashland, OH., passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Hospice House of North Central Ohio.  Sandy was born January 22, 1938 in Ashland, OH., to Clarence and Florence (Morehead) Bolin.  She was a resident of Ashland Co. all of her life.  Sandy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served on the church alter guild, and was a member of the choir.  She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, and was a member of Flower Gardeners of Ashland. Sandy previously worked at the Ashland Municipal Court and National Latex.

     On September 28, 1956 Sandy married James “Jim” Kauffman who survives.  Also surviving are three daughters: Ginger (William “Bill”) Vanderlinde of Cincinnati, OH., Holly (Henry “Hank”) Stevens of Ashland, Alison (Bradley) Matthews of Herndon, Virginia; one son, Gregory (Brenda) Kauffman of Ashland, Oh.; 8 grandchildren: Claire and Julia Vanderlinde, Hannah Stevens, Owen and Gabriel Matthews, Joshua Kauffman, Curtis (Ashley) Kauffman, and Chelsea (Eddie) MacAbee; 5 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Knowles of Ashland; one brother, Clarence “Joe” W. Bolin; and two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Bolin and Betty Bolin both of Ashland; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Maurice “Bud” and Richard “Dick” Bolin; and four sisters: Anna Bell Riffle, Ella Mae Smith, Thelma Albery, and Louise Lucas.

     A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 13, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church , 508 Center St., Ashland, OH., with Pastor Sanford Mitchell officiating.  Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service (10:00 to 11:00) at the church.  The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Music Fund, 508 Center St., Ashland, OH., 44805 or Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr., Ashland, OH., 44805.  Heyl Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
