Sharon Elaine (Ashton) Anderson

Sharon Elaine (Ashton) Anderson age 60, of Ashland, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family following a 3 year battle with cancer.  She was born June 15, 1958 in Lodi, Ohio the daughter of Paul and Anita (Black) Ashton.  Sharon was a 1976 graduate of Mapelton High School and had been a lifelong resident of Ashland County.  Sharon was employed with Bookmasters for the past 30 years as a Content Services Manager.  She had previously been employed with Ashland Rubber Co., Ward Robe Company (New London), and Nova Elevator.  Sharon attended the Nova Community United Methodist Church.  She was an avid Pittsburg Steelers Fan.  She also enjoyed cooking (suppling Christmas cookies to many people), reading and needle work.

On November 21, 1994 Sharon married Mark Anderson who survives.  Also surviving are her mother, Anita Ashton of Nankin; mother in-law, Nancy (Harold- Deceased) Wylie of Ashland; brother, Rich (Andrea) Ashton of Columbus; brother in-law, Mitch Anderson of Ashland; sister, Tammy (Tony) Hall of Marion; sister in-law, Melissa (Art) Szabo of Ashland; nephews, Tyler (Jessica) Hall of Delaware, Chad (Shelia) Anderson of Ashland, Tyler Whitmore of Columbus, Joshua Whitmore of Ashland; nieces, Taylor (Joseph) Simpson of Dayton and Heidi (Greg Cox) McDaniel of Ashland.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Paul Ashton; maternal grandparents, OE and Doris Black; along with her paternal grandparents, William and Jessie Ashton.

Funeral services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Scot Myers officiating.  Burial will follow at Nova Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 6 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers or personal gifts the family suggests Memorial contributions may be made in Sharon’s memory in a tax deductible donation – Sharon E.
