Willis Esbenshade Obituary

Willis D. Esbenshade age 79, of the Olivesburg- Adario area, died Wednesday June 22, 2011 at the Hospice House. He was born on August 20, 1931 in Richland County, the son of Paul and Ruby (Stevens) Esbenshade. Mr. Esbenshade retired from Patterson and Son Fabricators after 20 years, and had engaged in farming all of his life. He was a member of the Olivesburg United Methodist Church, a member of the Butler Township Farmers Institute, and had been a trustee for Butler Township for several years, Mr. Esbenshade was a veteran of the Air National Guard and also of the U.S. Army. He was an avid coon hunter.

On February 1, 1958 Willis married Louise (Nell) Esbenshade who survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Dianna Onie of Shelby; sons, Jeff (Kristie) Esbenshade of Ashland, Tony Esbenshade of Olivesburg; grandchildren, Brittany Onie, Tristan Onie, Destinie Esbenshade, Zack Hershey; brother Berlyn (Nedra) Esbenshade of Shiloh; sisters in -law, Donna (Bernard) Wolf of Ashland, Marlyn Esbenshade of Olivesburg; along with his several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Mervin and Ivan; granddaughter, Taylor Esbenshade; and his special friend Trent Oswalt.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday June 28, 2011 at the Olivesburg United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Olivesburg Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may visit with the family on Monday June 27, 2011 from 2 to 4:00 P.M. and 6 to 8:00 P.M. at the Heyl Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to the Olivesburg United Methodist Church 4748 St. Rte. 545, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
