Richard Eberhart age 80, of Ashland, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a short battle with cancer.  On October 25, 1937 Richard was born to Laurence and Marie (Gasner) Eberhart in Ashland.  He lived in Ashland all of his life.  On March 5, 1960 he married his lovely wife Carol (Eby) Eberhart who preceded him in death March 1, 2014.

Richard retired from Fisher Service Company of Mansfield as a welder; he also did some welding teaching at Madison High School in Mansfield, and at Pioneer in Shelby.  He was a member of the Air Force National Guard in Mansfield.

Dick as he was called was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing and he loved spending time with his family and friends.  He loved to be outdoors mowing, gardening, plowing snow in the winter and helping his neighbors as much as he could.

Surviving are two sons, Richard “Rick” (Diana) Eberhart and Robert (Maxine) Eberhart all of Ashland; his grandchildren, Roger (Tracey) Sheaffer of Savannah, Ricky (Kimberly) Eberhart of Ashland, Makayla Eberhart of Greenwich; step grandchildren, Tia (Adam) Weiler of Nankin, Rebecca (Phillip) Atterholt and family, Jessica (Nathan) Shepherd and family; his great grandchildren, Gavin, Sylas, Lachlan Eberhart; his step great grandchildren, Landon Hartsel, Robbie and Kaitlyn Marshall, Jedd White; his sister, Mary Leisure, along with his siters in-law, Georgia Geotz and June Adams.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol; his parents; his in-laws, George and Pearl Eby and brother in-law, Bill Leisure.

Funeral services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dr. Paul Tracy officiating.  Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park.  Friends may visit with the family on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 6 to 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service.  The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Lighthouse Pentecostal Assembly Church 323 Steel Ave. Ashland, Ohio 44805.
