Rebecca L. Sprang age 52, of Ashland, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at her residence.  She was born in Ashland on April 27, 1965, the daughter of David and Shirley (Bresock) Harper.  Rebecca was a graduate of Ashland High School and had attended Ashland University.  She had been employed in Retail Sales working for Nichols Department Store and Walmart.   She was a member of the Ripley Church of Christ.  Having had MS for over 26 years, Rebecca was a volunteer for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and a big proponent for furthering research in hopes of finding a cure for MS.  She loved spending time with her family and attending all the family’s events.  She enjoyed art, photography and was a talented videographer, capturing family birthdays and Christmas’s.

On August 9, 1997 Rebecca married Dwight Sprang who survives.  Also surviving are her mother, Shirley Harper of Ashland; sister, Judy Harper of Ashland; niece, Caitlin Fischer of Ashland, and nephew, Jordan Harper of Akron.  Rebecca was preceded in death by her father David.

A Memorial Service Celebrating Rebecca’s Life will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 1360 Smith Rd. Ashland, Ohio 44805 on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Karen Liddy officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 A.M. until service time at the church.  Heyl Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made in Rebecca’s memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Buckeye Chapter 6155 Rockside Rd. Suite 202, Independence, Ohio 44131.

Dwight, I wanted to express my sympathy to you on Rebecca's passing. You may or may not remember me. I was the nurse that came to your home for a few years to give you both your flu shots. I looked forward to those visits. They were always pleasant. You were a very pleasant couple. Please take care.
