Harry D. Salyer age 91, of Ashland, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  He was born in January 9, 1927 in Garrett, KY., the son of Benjamin and Anna (Case) Salyer.  Mr. Salyer had been employed with F.E. Myers before retiring in 1972.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Korea.  He was a life member of the Am Vets Post 96 and the American Legion Post 16.

 

On August 2, 1960 Harry married Carol A. Whitcomb who preceded him in death.  In addition to his wife Harry was also preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles Salyer and sister Shirley Costo.

 

Survivors include his Nieces, Nephews, and many friends.

A Committal service and interment with full military honors will be at the Ohio Western National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 9:30 A.M. with Pastor Drew Meziere officiating.  Those wishing to attend need to be at the National Cemetery cortege line by the main entrance by 9:15 A.M.  There will be a committal service at Zehner Cemetery at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 with Pastor Drew Meziere officiating.  Also on Thursday May 17, 2018 there will a time of gathering and remembrance Celebrating Harry’s life at the Garber Brethren Church 163 Sherman Ave. Ashland from 4:30 to 6:30 P.M.
