Phyllis JoAnn Rogers age 88 of Ashland passed away on September 23,2018 at Kingston of Ashland following an extended illness.

Born in Ashland on August 7,1930 the daughter of  Jesse Fowler and Edith Stevens, she had been an Ashland resident all of her life. Mrs. Rogers had been employed at Abbott Laboratories and retired in 1992.

On June 10,1961 she married Bernard Rogers who preceded her in death in 2015.

Surviving are seven daughters and five sons in law, Beverley Hollis of Florida, Julie Taylor of Colorado, RayeLynne (Bob) Wingrove of Alabama, Sheryl (Mike) Bell of Michigan, Pam (Tom) Burgess of Washington, Teresa (Jim) Miller of Ashland and Melissa (Ken) Bove of Ohio.

Thirteen grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren also survive as well as one brother, Larry Stevens of Ohio.

Mrs. Rogers is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years Bernard Rogers; one grandchild and five brothers and five sisters.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Funeral services will be held on Friday September 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor Don Highman officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday September 27, 2018 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions in Mrs. Rogers name be given to any of the following organizations; Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805; Ashland County Cancer Association,1011 East Main Street, Suite B, Ashland Ohio 44805 or Ashland County Council on Aging, 240 East 3rd Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
