Alice J. (Wise) Rickett

Alice J. Rickett age 100 of Ashland, passed away on March 14, 2023 at Kingston of Ashland.

She was born June 4, 1922 on a farm between Polk and Sullivan the daughter of Tilden and Sylivia (Hartsel) Wise and was the youngest of eleven children.

Growing up during the Depression, she learned many skills to economize and manage what was available. On July 5, 1947, Alice was married to Robert C. Rickett who preceded her in death in 1987.

Alice was known for her pies and contributed them to various clubs and organizations for fund raisers.

She served as 4H advisor for Polk Progressive Farmers, was the Treasurer of Ashland County NFO, was active in the Ashland County Democrats and was selected Mrs. Democrat. She was also an officer and Leader of TOPS. She also served on the Ashland County Fair Board and was a Poll Worker during elections. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are six children; Sylvia (John) Wolff of Butler, Kathleen Wolf of Delaware, Jody Bisel of Mansfield, Robert A. (Anna) Rickett of Medina, Jeffrey A. (Mary) Rickett of Ashland and Terry (Danita) Rickett of Ashland. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters.

In addition to her husband Robert, Alice is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings.

In keeping with her wishes there will be no public visitation and a private family graveside service will be held.
