Alma Mae Ferrell- Coleman age 92, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Luther Village. She was born October 1, 1929 in Braxton, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Henderson and Lucy (Spicer) Moyer. She was a graduate of Gassaway High School. Alma had been a resident of Ashland the past 77 years. She had been employed with National Latex, a Hostess with McDonald’s and worked home childcare. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and had been a Sunday School Teacher and Choir Member at previous churches. Alma enjoyed gardening, flowers along with feeding and watching birds.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen (Fred) McClellan and Marilyn Kay Ferrell; sisters, Alice (Louis) McDaniel, Catherine (Homer) Hershey, Charlotte (Ken) Cellar; granddaughter, Kelly (Greg) Marsh; great granddaughter, Emily Marsh; stepchildren, John (Diana) Coleman, Rich (Laura) Coleman, Phil (Debbie) Burd, and Janis Bridwell.
In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Sherwood Coleman; brothers, Junior Moyers, Denzil Moyers, and Paul Moyers; along with her sister, Velma Potts.
Funeral services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 11:30 AM with Pastor Harry Strachan officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 10:00 AM till service time. There will be a private family burial at Ashland County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Alma’s memory to the Calvary Baptist Church 210 N. Davis Rd. Ashland, Ohio 44805. Online condolences may be left for the family.
