Annabelle R. (Koppler) Canfield

Annabelle R. Canfield age 99, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Lutheran Village of Ashland. She was born in Ashland on September 11, 1923, the daughter of the late Jacob and Lena Belle (Streit) Koppler. Annabelle was a lifelong resident of Ashland and a graduate of Ashland High School. Annabelle and her husband Clyde had been owner/ operators of Canfield Floral for over 20 years and she had previously been employed with F.E. Myers. Annabelle was a member of the Ashland Emmanuel Church and the American Legion Post #88 Auxiliary. In her younger years Annabelle and her sisters were avid softball players at Brookside Park. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.

On June 5, 1942 Annabelle married Clyde Canfield who preceded her in death in 2000. Survivors include her daughters, Beverly (Gary) Halterman and Diana Pence both of Ashland; her grandchildren, Eric (Kelly) Halterman, Lance (Traci) Halterman, Shawn (Jenny) Pence, and Shannon (Mike) Barr; great grandchildren, Austin Halterman, Hailey Halterman, Bryce Halterman, Brayden Pence, Collin Pence, Landon Hagedorn, Connor Hagedorn, and Sutton Hagedorn; and great great grandchildren, Maia Halterman and Bennett Halterman.

In addition to her parents and husband, Clyde, Annabelle was preceded in death by her brothers, Ben Koppler and Carl “Jake” Koppler; along with her sisters, Mabel McQuillen, Lois Hartsel, Dorothy Ceciel Walters, Grace Emmons, Ellen Witmer and Betty Hummel.

Funeral services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bill Payne and Pastor Ignatius David Officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM till service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Annabelle’s name to the Ashland Emmanuel Church 322 Cleveland Ave. Ashland, Ohio 44805. Online condolences may be left for the family.
