Arzonia Mae (Bomar) Laurent

Arzonia Mae Laurent age 71, of Shiloh, passed away on Sunday, February 27,2022 at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.

Born on October 2, 1950 in Oakland, Maryland the daughter of Vaughn Bowmar and Norine (Poling) Wilson. She had been a resident of Ashland County most of her life.

She was the owner/ operator of Larry’s Auto. She was also a homemaker and caretaker.

Surviving are two daughters and son in law; Melissa and Jeff Griffin of Shiloh and Cynthia Drake of Shiloh. She is also survived by a son, Buddy Laurent of Westerville, Ohio grandchildren; Stephanie Knowlton, Richard “Tommy” Knowlton Jr., Mandy Knowlton, Sequoya Drake, Phoenix Davis, Jennifer Minnich, Zachary Griffin and Ashley Laurent; great grandchildren, Sophia Knowlton, Konner Queen, Ava Minnich, Dawson Minnich, Tucker Griffin, Wesley Griffin, Hannah Griffin, and Landon Griffin along with her sister and brother in law Mary and Norman Wininger.

In addition to her parents, Arzonia was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Drake; second husband, Larry Laurent; son, Michael Drake Jr.; brothers, Vaughn Bowmar Jr. and Charles Bowmar.

Arzonia was an active member of the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren, where she was treasurer. She was also a board member of Agape Acres. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her church family.

A celebration of Arzonia’s life will be held at the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren,960 Township Road 964, Ashland, Ohio 44805 at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday March 6, 2022 with Pastor Steve Keib officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm. There will be a gathering and time of fellowship following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805 in Arzonia’s memory to help defray costs.
