Betty J. (Griggs) Imperio

Betty J Imperio, 95, passed away Friday October 23, 2020, after a long battle with dementia. Betty was born September 20, 1925, the daughter of Gale C and Gladys M ( Wenrick) Griggs. She was a lifelong resident of Ashland, graduating from Ashland High School, class of '43. While in school, she played clarinet for the Ashland High School marching band and sang in Doc Pete's senior choir.

After graduation, she worked in the office of FE Myers, and later several retail jobs, Including WT Grants, until they closed, and Neffs Bakery.

Betty enjoyed bowling and collecting things with her favorite being her collection of Roseville pottery. She was a great cook, and the best pie baker in the world.

She married Robert Imperio December 1944. They were married 56 years until Bob's passing in September 2000. Betty has 2 children, Chris (Bill) Strine and Jerry Imperio, both of Ashland. Grand children, Angela (Bryon) Stutz of Ashland, Kelly (Frank) Kost, of Mentor and Seth Strine, of Shelby, and several great-grandchildren.

Betty was a lifelong Member of First Christian Church of Ashland.

The family would like to thank Hospice of North Central Ohio, Brad Bostic of palliative care, and Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing for tending to Betty's comfort and well being during her difficult illness.

Family graveside services will be held Tuesday October 27th at Ashland County Memorial Park with Pastor Julie Thoms officiating.
