Betty A. (Chamberlin) Wickham

Betty Ann Wickham age 94, of Ashland, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at her daughter’s residence.  She was born January 25, 1926 in Belle Center, Ohio, the 3rd child of the late Knox D. and Flossie E. (Reed) Chamberlin.  After attending several schools in Medina County, She graduated from Hayesville High School.  Betty then attended the Euclid Academy of Cosmetology in Cleveland; following graduation she opened Betty’s Downtown Stylist in Ashland.  Betty was owner\ operator of the salon for 40 years before retiring in 2003.  In the early 1970’s Betty obtained her Realtors license, she was named Realtor of the year in 1978. 

Betty had a strong faith and a heart of gold. She always looked forward to holiday traditions such as decorating, cooking and spending time with her family.  Traveling, doing hair and real estate were all passions of hers.  She loved playing bingo, slot machines, crossword puzzles, cards, and board games.

Survivors include her daughter, Debra (Brian) Hamrick- Gregg of Ashland; her son, Douglas Brehm of Florida; her step-daughter, Sharon (Steve) Boughter of Lexington; her grandchildren, Maria Hamrick, Richard Hamrick, Robert Hamrick, and Michelle (Dave) Howe; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great- great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Knox Chamberlin Jr., Ralph Chamberlin, and Carl Chamberlin; along with her sisters, Bonnie Chamberlin and Ruth Chamberlin.

Private graveside services will be held at Ashland County Memorial Park with Chaplain Doug Olsen officiating.
