Bonita "Bonnie" Fowler

Bonita "Bonnie" J. Fowler age 88 of Ashland, passed away on August 28, 2020 at Brookwood Place.
Born in Ashland on June 10, 1932 the daughter of E.L. and Pauline (Holcker) Ryland, she was a resident of Ashland County all of her life.
Bonnie had been employed as a childcare assistant in the Early Childhood Development program at the Ashland Career Center.
She was married to Donald E. Fowler, who preceded her in death on March 4, 2000.
Surviving are five sons; Gary (Celeste) Gerwig of Ashland, Doug (Pam) Gerwig of Ashland, Kevin (Darlene Richardson) Gerwig of Ashland, Scott (Karen) Gerwig of Ashland and Tom (Mandy) Gerwig of Lodi.
She is also survived by one step daughter and one step son, Marlene (Gerald Shanks) Shoup of Polk and Craig (Mindy) Fowler of Arizona.
One brother and sister in law also survive, Stanley (Shirley) Ryland of Ashland.
Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her husband Donald, she is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Robert Ryland.
Bonnie was a member of the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren and was very active in the church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 2, 2020 at the Heyl Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m with Pastor Steve Keib officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. till the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the funeral service at the Ashland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Bonnie's name be given to Brookwood Place Activities Fund, 2000 Center Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
