Carolyn Ann (Detrow) Shenberger

Carolyn Ann (Detrow) Shenberger age 90, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020 at the Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born April 2, 1929 in Ashland, the daughter of the late Milan L. and Lucille (Biddinger) Detrow.  Mrs. Shenberger had been a lifelong resident of Ashland.  She graduated from Ashland High School and had attended Ashland College.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.  Mrs. Shenberger had been employed with the Ashland Community Federal Credit Union and also had been a Guardian Ad Litem for the Ashland Common Pleas Court.  She loved trying new recipes, baking, playing bridge, sewing, doing crossword puzzles and bird watching.

On July 10, 1949 Carolyn married Harry R. Shenberger, Jr. who preceded her in death in 2014.  Survivors include her children, Susan V. (Jack) Pesci of Rossford, OH., Stephen R. (Sara) Shenberger of Canal Fulton, OH., Thomas A. (Kim) Shenberger of Crystal Lake, IL., and Sara A. “Sally” (Tony) Smetana of Ashland; nine grandchildren; along with twelve great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the First Presbyterian Church at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dr. JoAnn Ford Watson officiating.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service in the Lounge of the church.  Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made in Carolyn’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church 320 Church St. Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to Pathways Hospice 1171 E.
