Charles Ballou Obituary

Charles Allen Ballou age 81 of Sullivan peacefully passed to be with the Lord on December 25, 2021.

Born on February 4, 1940 the son of Russel and Martha Ballou of Sullivan, he was a Sullivan resident all of his life. He was a graduate of Sullivan High School in 1958 and served eight years in the United States Air Force, serving in both Germany and Vietnam.

Allen was employed at Spencer Manufacturing Company and was Chief Inspector for over 30 years before retiring. He was an avid fan of NTPA Tractor Pulling and NASCAR. He also enjoyed wood working in the first year of his retirement before losing his eye sight to Glaucoma.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan (Robertson) Ballou of Sullivan. Also surviving is one son, Robert Allen Ballou of Mifflin and one sister, Lucille Ballou.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters; Janet Ballou of Wooster, Janice (Ballou) Schee of Wooster and Susan (Ballou) Ekey of Ashland.

In keeping with Allen’s wishes there will be no funeral or memorial services, he will be laid to rest in the old section of the Southview Sullivan Cemetery on a family plot.
