Clair E. Watts age 79 of Greenwich, passed away at his residence on Saturday June 27, 2020. Born in Ashland on August 25, 1940 the son of Russell and Elsie (Hawks) Watts he had been and Ashland County resident most of his life.
Mr. Watts was a retiree of Westinghouse and had also been employed at the Family filling station and several other filling stations in the area. He also tended bar at several Ashland Social Clubs for many years.
On May 9, 1981 Mr. Watts was married to Paula Hartsel who survives.
Also surviving are two children and their spouses, Russell (Chris) Watts of Butler, Ohio and Rita (John) West of Mansfield, Ohio
Five grandchildren; Michael (Taylor) Watts, Eric Watts, Alyssa Watts, Zach Perry(Amber Morrow) and Johnny West also survive as do three great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; Bentli Perry, Brazton McLaughlin, Lailah Everhart, Alexis Johnson and Aidan Johnson
Mr. Watts is preceded in death by his parents; one brother Joe Watts; one sister, Barbara Heston and one grandson Jeremy Perry
Mr. Watts served his country as a member of the United States Army and also in the Army Reserve. He was a member of Ashland Eagles Aerie #2178, Harry Higgins Post #88 American Legion and Amvets Post #96.
Funeral services with Military Honors provided by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor Timothy Bailey officiating on Thursday July 2, 2020. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday July 2, 2020. Burial will follow at the Ashland County Memorial Park.
