Clorita "Cookie" Workman Obituary

Clorita “Cookie” Workman age 69, of Ashland, left this life to meet her loved ones who have passed, on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at UH Samaritan Medical Center. She was born in Ashland on May 7, 1952, the daughter of the late Harry and Evelyn (Foster) Matheny. Clorita had been a lifelong resident of Ashland. She had been employed with Hedstrom Plastics for over 35 years before retiring in 2003. Clorita was a member of the Salvation Army, a life member of the AMVETS Post 96, auxiliary member of the VFW Post 1067, and a past member of the F.O.E. auxiliary. She enjoyed to Crochet, attending and working at the local fairs, taking cruises, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren who meant the world to her.

On June 12, 1981 Clorita married Virgil A. Workman who preceded her in death in 2007. Survivors include her children, Kimberly and “Moe” Khan of Mansfield, Stella and Dana Hatten of Polk and Delvy and Breanna Workman of Ashland; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; her sister, Hazel Beyl of Ashland; and brother, Edward Hammon of West Lake.

In addition to her parents and husband, Virgil; Clorita was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Coleman; along with her brothers, William Liston, Merle Dean Liston and Ronald Gene Liston.

There will be a Celebration of Clorita’s life held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Clorita’s memory to the Salvation Army 527 E. Liberty St. Ashland, Ohio 44805. Online condolences may be left for the family.
