Conrad L. Gess

Conrad L. Gess age 84 of Polk, passed away on Sunday March 17,2024.

Born in Terre Haute, Indiana on July 9, 1939 the son of John and Opal (Price) Gess. He had been a resident of Ashland County most of his life.

Mr. Gess was an employee of Myers Pump until his retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was also an avid student of Karate, teaching classes at the YMCA and also at his own dojo.

On July 9, 1959, Conrad was married to Martha A. Chacey who survives.

In addition to his wife, Martha. He is survived by two children; Cheryl (David) Austen of Polk and Brian Gess of West Salem. Mr. Gess is also survived by four grandchildren; Sarah Austen, Matthew (Hannah) Austen, Joshua Gess and Cody Gess. Seven great grandchildren also survive; Adam, John, Opal, Daniel, Addilyn, Virgil and Poppi. Two brothers and sisters in law; John (Mary Lou) Gess of Loudonville and Jerry (Carol) Gess of Ashland.

Mr. Gess is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

A time of gathering and visitation will be held on Friday March 22, 2024 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at the Heyl Funeral Home.

The family asks that memorial gifts may be given to the Heyl Funeral Home to help defray costs.
