David Eugene Stringer

David Eugene Stringer, a resident of Ashland, Ohio for over 40 years, died on Tuesday, July 27th, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on August 7, 1937 in Akron, Ohio.

He leaves behind his wife of over 52 years, Carol A. Stringer, and his children: daughter, Renee Statham of Ashland, OH., Christine Bauer of Sarasota, Florida, and David (Rory) Stringer of Ashland, OH. Also his grandchildren: Sarah (Josh) Glaze of Alpharetta, Georgia; Zachariah (fiance, Lauren Wolfgang) Bauer of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Luke Bauer of Atlanta, Georgia; Hallie and Samantha Statham of Ashland, OH., and Alexandra and Maxwell Stringer of Ashland, OH. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra (Cecil) Lee of Uniontown, OH; and brothers: Robert (Jan) Stringer of Merrimac, New Hampshire and Richard Stringer of Akron, OH.

He was employed at General Tire in Akron, Ohio and Eagle Rubber Co. after moving to Ashland, OH., in 1968. He also worked at Henkel Chemical as a Regional Sales Manager until his retirement in 2000.

David enjoyed being outdoors and always looked forward to his hiking trips throughout the United States with his brother, Bob.

He was the family photographer and would make sure to memorialize his family's milestones and vacations. Unfortunately he rarely shows up in the snapshots because someone had to take the pictures!

A memorial service will be held 10:00am Monday, August 2, 2010 at Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad St., Ashland, OH., with Pastor Don Earlenbaugh officiating. Friends may visit with the family 1 hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
