Debra J. Blanton

Debra J. Blanton, age 51, of Ashland, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Fisher- Titus Medical Center. She was born October 16, 1969 in Delaware, Ohio, the daughter of Phillip “Tom” Gene and Patricia Ann (Kidwell) Blanton. Debra had been a Horse Trainer. She had been a successful member of Tops of Ashland and had been active with the YMCA. Debra was a very loving, caring Mother, Daughter, Sister and Aunt. She was the life of the party, she was always putting a smile on everyone’s face and had touched many peoples lives. Debra loved horses, cowboys, country music and most of all her son, Derrick.

Survivors include her son, Derrick (Caro Raver- Matallana) Raver of Mesa, AZ.; her father, Phillip “Tom” Blanton of Marion; her siblings, Sandra (Dave) Davenport of Bucyrus, Tim Blanton of Marion, Pamela Strause of Marion, Brenda Caudy of Ashland, and Vicki (Steve) Vanbenthuysen of Marysville; numerous nieces and nephews; along with her cat, Deseray.  Debra was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Blanton and brother Keith Blanton.

There will be a celebration of life service at Heyl Funeral Home on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Travis Mckenzie officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10: 00 a.m. till service time Monday at the funeral home.
