Dennis M. Baum

Dennis M. Baum age 76 of Mansfield, passed away at Ohio Health Mansfield on June 28, 2023.

Born in Ashland, Ohio on March 12, 1947 the son of Benjamin B. and Natalie J. (Bergen) Baum he had been a Ashland resident for most of his life.

Dennis was a member of the Ashland High School class of 1967. He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1967 - 1971.

Denny had a passion for music and played drums throughout his life. He was the last living member of the Swingin Countrymen, a traveling band in the 70’s.  

After retiring from Pentair in Ashland he enjoyed spending many years playing dominos and traveling with his wife Sally and dear friends, Doug and Cindy Shasky.  

Denny had a tender heart and loved the Lord and his family above himself.  He dearly loved his children and grandchildren. Denny was a member of the Lincoln Heights Baptist Church where he drummed with the praise and worship team for many years. Denny had a lively sense of humor and loved to share stories and jokes to make people laugh. 

On December 22, 2001 Dennis was married to Sally Cole who survives.

In addition to his wife Sally, he is also survived by his sister, Cynthia Satterfield of Geneva, one daughter, Erika J. Baum of Mansfield and one step daughter and son in law, Tiffany (Noah) Matheny of Mansfield. One grand daughter, Makenna R. Mosley and one great granddaughter, Ariah J. Wirick also survive.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Cedric Bowman.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday July 6, 2023 at 12:00 pm in the Ashland Cemetery with Pastor Mike Wilson officiating.
