Elizabeth (Jane) J. VanDyne

Elizabeth “Jane” VanDyne age 93 of Ashland, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2023 at Brethren Care Nursing Center in Ashland.

Jane was born in Ashland on April 10,1930 to Arthur and Mable (nee Miller) Billhiemer. She graduated from Ashland High School class of 1948. On December 2, 1948, she was married to Harold Lee Van Dyne. They had two son’s David Lee VanDyne and James Allen VanDyne.

Jane was a homemaker most of her life, following the death of her husband Harold she was employed at Bank One. Jane was an avid gardener, growing vegetables and flowers. She loved Kingwood Center and visited there often. Jane was also a voracious reader and would go to the Ashland Public Library at least twice a month to stock up on a variety of books.

She was a member of Grace Church and also helped in the church library.

Jane is survived by four grandchildren; Jeff (Brittany) Vandyne, Chad (Holly) VanDyne, Justin VanDyne and Mackenzie (Derek) Schaffer. Seven great grandchildren also survive. She also leaves behind many special nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, two son’s David and Jim, her brother Art Jr. and her sister Eileen Cellar.

Funeral services will be held on August 11, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor Norm Johnson officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 am till 11:00 am at the funeral home on the day of the funeral. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Ashland County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given to Grace Church or Ashland Public Library.
