Obituary
Elsie Irene Chacey, age 84, of Polk, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the Ohio Health Shelby Hospital. Elsie was born November 6, 1938 in Medina Co., the daughter of the late James and Eva (nee’ Duffey) Friend. Elsie had been a resident of Ashland County most of her life where she was a Homemaker. She was an animal lover. Elsie most enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
On December 23, 1958 Elsie married Ralph Chacey Jr. who preceded her in death in 1998. Survivors include her children, Roger (Tracey) Chacey of Mansfield, Larry (Robin Booth) Chacey of Polk, Beverley (Don) Earlenbaugh of Ashland, Becky (Joe) Mong of Mansfield, John (Dezarey) Chacey of Ashland, and Beth Finley of Shiloh; her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Ralph, Elsie was preceded in death by 3 infant children, twin sons, Ronald and Donald and daughter Bonnie; 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 6 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family.
