Erma Doty Obituary

Erma Mae Doty, of Ashland, passed away on Friday April 17, 2020 at the age of 91. Erma was born on March 21, 1929 in Warsaw, Ohio to the late Mark and Lulu (Tish) Akins. Erma lived in Ashland since 1963 where she dedicated her life to being a wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandma. Erma held family and friendships closest to her heart. Erma had passions for cooking, baking, and gardening.

On July 7, 1952 Erma married the love of her life Jacob Doty who preceded her death on the same day of April 17 in the year 2002. They enjoyed a 50 year marriage. Her death was also preceded by her daughter, Cheryl Boggs; her brothers Kenny, Gary, Dale, and Ervin Akins; her sisters Unita Rogers and Betty Taylor.

Survivors include her son, Roger Doty of Ashland, OH; son in-law, Rusty Boggs of Ashland, OH; her grandson, Mike (Jessica) Doty of Columbus, OH; her sisters, Wynona Rosenberger of Maryville, TN., Bonnie Hinkle of Walhonding, OH., Janice (Jeff) Thomas of Coshocton, OH., and Connie (Dave) Durben of Millersport, OH and many nieces and nephews.

With the current pandemic, the family will have a private graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made in Erma's memory to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805. Family and friends are encouraged to leave condolences on this website.
