Ethel (Shepherd) Welter

Ethel Welter age 71, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at UH Samaritan Medical Center.  She was born October 28, 1949 in Shiloh, the daughter of the late Adis and Minnie (Hicks) Shepherd.  Ethel was a 1969 graduate of Crestview High School.  She was a Homemaker and enjoyed baking and gardening.  She was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church.

On August 7, 1976 Ethel married Donald Welter who survives.  Also surviving are her daughter, Theresa (Steve) Morr of Ashland; her sons, Craig (Jennifer) Welter and Justin (Sara) Welter both of Mansfield; her grandchildren, Lucas Welter, Allison Morr, Collin Welter, Ethan Morr, Connor Welter, Ava Welter, Jaxson Welter, and Sadie Welter; along with her siblings, Mreadith (Ron) Spoerr of Shiloh, Geneva (Henry) Calame of Greenwich, Clyde Shepherd of Shiloh, Gevone (Charles) Bailey of Ashland, David (Karen) Shepherd of Polk, and Larby (Virgil) Dye of Ashland.

In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her siste,r Amy Smith and 4 infant siblings.  

Graveside services will be held at Savannah Cemetery on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Rod Kreidler officiating.  Heyl Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  The family suggests memorial contributions may be made in Ethel’s memory to St. Edwards School 433 Cottage St. Ashland, Ohio 44805.
