Georgia L. Simmons, age 85, of Ashland, passed away peacefully at her residence on March 13, 2026.
Born in Ashland on December 9, 1940, she was a lifelong resident of the community. Georgia was the proud owner of the Holbrook Beauty Salon as well as part owner of the Orchard Inn in Ashland for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Savannah High School Class of 1958 and the Ashland Amvets Post 96.
Georgia was known for her vibrant spirit and sassy personality, she always cherished time spent with her many friends and family. She loved to play cards, watch football, read and was always ready to watch a good love story.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Gary (Leslie) Schoenian of Arizona, Jamie (Tammy) Schoenian of Ashland, and Susan (Mike) Timmons of Ashland. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Rachel (Bryson) Applegate, Nic Schoenian, Alexis (Dane) Eagle, Keely Schoenian, Maddie Johnson, and Brody Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Tate Eagle and Owen Applegate. Her siblings, Vera Swineford and Vernon Gray, also survive her.
Georgia was preceded in death by her grandparents, numerous siblings, and her companion, John Hamilton.
A celebration of Georgia’s life will be planned for a later date.
