Gerald K. Kanzig

Gerald K. Kanzig age 83 of Ashland, passed away on February 7, 2026 at The Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Centerville, Ohio on May 16, 1942 the son of Harry W. and Vera E. (Kirkbright) Kanzig he had been a resident of Ashland County since 1960. On September 26, 1959 he was married to Barbara Jean Stump who preceded him in death on November 7, 2017. Mr. Kanzig retired from Smetz’s Tire Center and had also been employed at Ashland Tire. He loved going to car show’s and spending time with his family.

Surviving are three children: Keith (Ann) Kanzig of Ashland, Dennis Kanzig of Ashland and Lisa (Matt) Kanzig-Adams of Ashland. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings; Starling Kanzig, Helen Carpenter and Harry Kanzig.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 12, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Williams officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am till 11:00am at the funeral home on Thursday February 12, 2026. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Ashland Dickey Church cemetery.
