Grace Hunter Obituary

After a lingering illness, Grace Ellen Hunter passed peacefully into arms of Jesus on July, 7, 2024, holding hands with her husband of 55 years, Michael Armstrong Hunter.

 

Grace attended Midwestern Baptist College and was known for her faith and her irrepressible joy. She could be counted on to pray for you. And she was compassion, generous and funny, marked by a sense a sense of humor that constantly delighted and disarmed both family and friends.

 

A resident of Ashland, Ohio, since 2016, Grace was born September 13, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan and had also lived in Pontiac, Michigan; Falmouth, Massachusetts; and Continental, Richwood, Harrison, Wooster, and Mason, Ohio.

 

She is survived by her husband and four children: Darcy (and Christopher) Hanscom, Robert Hunter, Brent (and Leanna) Hunter, and Rachel Scott. She has two grandchildren: Araya Hanscom and Michael Lloyd Hunter. Her surviving siblings include Ariel Ford, Patsy Jones, John Jones (Marlene), Douglas Jones, Katie Metts (Wally), Deborah Mikolajczyk (Richard), and Ross Jones (Kathy) as well as 36 nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Virginia Jones, and two brothers, David and Mark.

 

A memorial service will be held at the Heyl Funeral Home in Ashland at 11:30 am on July 10, 2024. Family will receive guests at 11:00 am.
