Harold Morr Obituary

Harold F. Morr age 91 of Ashland, Ohio stepped into his eternal home on Wednesday August 28, 2019 in the home of his daughter and son in law, Brett and Barbie Martin. He was born on September 14, 1927 to Ora and Iva Mae (Stelzer) Morr of Ashland County. He graduated from Ashland College and Grace Theological Seminary, which prepared him to serve his country in the U. S. Air Force. After his military service, he moved to Huntington Beach, CA where he met his wife, Marilyn J. Sherman of Long Beach, CA and married in 1962. They had four children in California and eventually moved back to Ashland to raise their family.

Harold was a hard worker and had many careers during his lifetime, including church planting, real estate brokering and starting new businesses as an entrepreneur. He enjoyed traveling, remodeling houses and serving in the local church. He was an enthusiastic member of the Gideon’s for many years.

He had a soft spot for people who were trying to make something better with their lives. He generously involved himself in people’s lives and sought to share the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ to everyone with whom he came in contact. He loved his Lord, his family and his church. He was a long time member of the Ashland Grace Brethren Church.

Harold is survived by his four children and their spouses; son David (Jenny) Morr of Ashland, daughter Barbie (Brett) Martin of Ashland, son Andrew (Lulu) Morr of Crawley, Texas and daughter Christy (Jim) Hill of Winona Lake, Indiana. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one sister Marilyn Hansen of Florida.

His wife, Marilyn, of 47 years preceded him in death in 2009. Also preceding him in death are his parents, two brothers Bob Morr, Paul Morr and three sisters, Marcella, Donna and Betty.

The family would like to thank Molly Allen, Mel Plank and Tom and the rest of the staff at Hospice of North Central Ohio for their care during the past year. The family would suggest that memorial contributions be given to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.

The family will gather at a later date to celebrate the life of Harold.
