Harold E. Zager

Harold E. Zager, age 90, of Ashland, passed away on October 31, 2021 at the Brethren Care Nursing Home. Born in Iowa City, Iowa on February 1, 1931 the son of Jesse and Hazel (Scott) Zager. Mr. Zager had been a resident of Ashland county since 1995.

Mr. Zager had been employed as a Mechanical Engineer with NASA in Cleveland, Ohio for over 30 years. He was a graduate of Iowa State and held memberships in the Ashland Masonic Lodge 151, Lincoln Highway Association, Ashland Coin and Stamp Club, North Ashland Conservation League and Ashland Parks District.

On November 25, 1953, Harold was married to Jane D. Gavlak who preceded him in death on September 30, 2019.

Surviving are two daughters and sons in law; Sue (Nezam) Malakouti of Cincinnati and Jean (Michael) Zorko of Canton. Two grandson’s also survive; Nicholas Zorko and Bryan Zorko.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tom Zuercher officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 pm till 1:00 pm prior to the funeral service.

A masonic service will be held at 12:45 pm. Burial will follow in the Southview Cemetery, Sullivan, Ohio.
