Jack C. Coleman age 81 of Ashland, passed away on December 17,2021 at the Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Ashland Ohio on September 28, 1940 the son of Cathrine Coleman. Jack was an Ashland resident most of his life. He was a member of the Ashland High School Class of 1958. In 1958 he began his military career in the United States Army. His over sea's service included Korea 1960-1962, Okinawa 1965-1966 and Vietnam 1966-1967.
Jack was a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1971 and held a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. In addition to his degree from Nebraska, Jack had also completed many aspects of Military Education including the following; NCO Achademy & Leadership, Japanese Language, POW Interrogation, Infantry Officer Candidate School, and Adjutant General School with Instructor Training Course. During in time in the Military, Jack received numerous awards including Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman's Badge.
Jack was a member of the VFW 1067, AmVets, the American Legion, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and the Ashland Veteran's Honor Guard.
He is survived by four children; Sharon (Chris) Moehle of Missouri, Wendy Moon of California, Joshua Coleman of Indiana and Katie Coleman of Indiana. Six grand children also survive. Jack was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Coleman.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday December 23, 2021 at the Ashland Cemetery at 11:00 am with Pastor Don Earlenbaugh officiating. Military Honors will also be provided by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard.
