James Regan Obituary

James E. Regan age 68 of Ashland, passed away on Tuesday November 18, 2025 at his residence after a long battle with blood cancer

 

Born in Ashland on September 2, 1957 the son of Paul W. (Tex) and Shirley J (Shinabarker) Regan, he was a resident of Ashland County all of his life.

 

Before his retirement he had been employed with St. Edward Church. He was a graduate of Ashland High School Class of 1976. Jim was an avid golfer, he also enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and helping people whenever he could. He especially enjoyed helping with the Jr. Golf Program at Brookside Golf Course and at St. Edward School.

 

On February 16, 1980 he was married to Shari Pay who survives.

 

Also surviving are two daughters and one son in law: Brittany (Aaron) Brown of Greenville, South Carolina and Kristen Regan of Columbus, Ohio. He is also survived by one brother, one sister and two brother’s in law: Joe (Tracy) Regan of West Salem, Vicki (Danny) Gongwer of Jeromesville, Don Long of Killbuck and Andy McClure of Ashland.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Paula Long and Peggy McClure.

 

A time of visitation and remembrance will be held on Monday November 24, 2025 from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm at the Heyl Funeral Home. A mass will be held at 10:00am with Father Rod Kreidler officiating on Tuesday November 25, 2025 at St. Edward Church, 501 Cottage Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
