James R Schaub

James R. Schaub, age 72 of Ashland, OH., passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at Samaritan Regional Hospital. On November 30, 1941 in Newark, OH., Mr. Schaub was born to George and Lilyan (Lockwood) Schaub. He had been a resident of Ashland since 1967. Mr. Schaub formerly had served from 1963 until 1990 with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Since his retirement he was the field operations manager for Elk & Elk Co. Attorney of Law. Mr. Schaub had attended Ohio University and Ohio State University. On November 30, 1991 Mr. Schaub married Barbara Berry who survives. Also surviving are a son, James Daniel (Amanda) Schaub of Jupiter, FL.; a daughter, Joanna R. “Judy” Schaub and fiancé, David Hosack of Saguache, CO.; two grandchildren: Hans Matthew and Emily Schaub; a sister, Katherine (Allen) Monroe of Lancaster, OH.; and two nieces and one nephew. Mr. Schaub was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Matthew in 1994, and a sister, Shelly M. Jolly. Services will be held 5:00 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad St., Ashland, OH., with Dr. John Jorden officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 PM until service time (5:00 PM) Tuesday at the funeral home.
