James “Jim” A. Willet Sr. age 77, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at UH Elyria Medical Center. He was born March 27, 1943 in Willard, Ohio, the son of the late William “Bill” and Ellen (McConeghy) Willet. He was a graduate of South Central High School in Greenwich. Jim had been a resident of Ashland Most of his life. He had been employed as a farmer for Gordon A. Riley farm for over 10 years, and later worked as a truck driver for several local companies for 15 years before retiring. He enjoyed watching sports including football, wrestling and NASCAR.
Survivors include his sons, Brian King, Terry Brown, and James A. Willet Jr. all of Ashland; his grandchildren, Amy King, Mallery King and Adyan Schnitzius; along with his sisters, Linda Swiger, Kay Hemperly, and Mary Ellen Nolder. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Willet.
There will be a graveside service at Ashland Cemetery held on Friday, January 22, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Don Earlenbaugh officiating.
