Jane Louise (Shafer) Foster

Jane Louise Foster age 79, of Ashland passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025. Born in Ashland on August 19, 1945, the daughter of Lester and Esther (Baterson) Shafer, she was a resident of Ashland all of her life. She had been employed at the Ashland County Sheriff’s office. Jane was a graduate of Ashland High School Class of 1963. She was also a devoted member of the First Christian Church. She loved scrapbooking and was an avid reader. She also loved music, cooking, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

On September 19, 1965, she married Thomas Foster who preceded her in death on May 16, 1981

Surviving are one daughter and two sons; Brenda Foster of Ashland, Todd Foster of Phoenix, Arizona and Matt Foster of Avon, Ohio. Also surviving are two grandchildren; Ashley Dickinson and Drew Dickinson. One sister and brother in law also survive, Barbara (Larry) Overholt of Ashland.

In addition to her husband Thomas, she is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will occur on Friday January 10, 2025 from 10:00 am till 11:00 am with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the Ashland Cemetery.
