Janice "Red" Louise (McInerney) Switzer

Janice “Red” Louise Switzer age 82, of Ashland, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 13, 1938 in Nankin, the daughter of the late Patrick Joseph and Isa (Bevington) McInerney. Janice had been a lifelong resident of Ashland County and was a graduate of Ashland High School. She was a Homemaker and had been a waitress at the Dairy Dolly and later at the TA Truck Stop. Janice was a member of the Southview Grace Brethren Chuch where she was active with the choir and the worship team. Janice enjoyed Bowling, golfing, square dancing and was a beautiful singer. She was also a very talented Seamstress.

On July 20, 1958 Janice married Robert L. Switzer who survives. Also surviving are her sons, Michael (Pam Burgett) Switzer of Ashland, Mark (Mary) Switzer of Seville, and Matthew (Christy) Switzer of Ashland; her daughter, Brenda (Michael Simmons) Michaels of Sandusky; 13 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; along with her 12 step great- grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by 4 brothers, 6 sisters and a step grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Southview Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Mark Abel officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Heyl Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
